Our doctor and nurse appointments are 15 minutes long.

We like to ensure we have enough time to fully discuss and respond to your health needs. Standard 15-minute appointments are typically suitable for ONE issue or repeat prescription. If you have multiple concerns we encourage you to book a double appointment to ensure we can address the concerns adequately. This is out of courtesy to ensure patients before and after you are seen within their allocated time slot. Women’s health and mental health consults are usually recommended for 30-minute appointments. If you are unsure what you need to book please talk to our friendly reception team.

Please let our providers know your list of issues that you may want to discuss to allow our clinicians to prioritise importance.

Home Visits

Generally, we do not provide Home visits. However, please speak to us if you have a specific or special reasons for your request and we will try out best to help. We would ask all patients to attend our clinic as it is equipped with all medical instruments to allow proper treatment.

After hours services

Outside of our normal business hours, we would ask you to visit Pegasus Health 24 Hours Surgery situated at 401 Madras Street. Their telephone number is 03365 7777

For video or telephone consultations visit https://practiceplus.nz/. Practice Plus is a New Zealand registered company where patients can go online and book a telehealth appointment with registered GP’s. They are available from 5pm- 10pm weekdays or 8am-8pm weekends.

Emergencies

In any event of emergencies, please dial 111. If you are experiencing another situation where hospitalisation is not required ( Eg chest pain, shortness of breath, burns, asthma symptoms etc), please give a triage nurse a phone call first. We will aim to respond to you very quickly to assess your condition.
